Just checkin’ in

Posted by Joel on July 29th, 2008 filed in General stuff

Hey all.  Tuesday afternoon and mostly quiet around here.  We shipped the kids off with grandma to McCormick’s Creek today.  April and I won’t be going until Thursday, so we’ve gotten ourselves a couple of built in date nights this week.  There is not much to report on this end.  I feel fine and am recovering well from the treatments.  The most noticeable side effect that I have experienced is fatigue and an itchy back from the radiation.  It mostly feels like a sunburn that is beginning to peel and itches constantly.  It seems to be getting better with time as the doctors indicated it would so its just a matter of waiting it out….I can handle that.  Thanks again for all of the thoughts, cards, letters and prayers by so many.  It is greatly appreciated.  Will talk to you soon.

Joel

    Hi Joel,

It’s wonderful that you and April will have a couple of days alone before heading on down to the Canyon Inn. It’s terrific that Rachel and Daphne and Vincent went to McCormick’s Creek already. They’re having a great summer–Turkey Run last week and McCormick’s Creek this week plus Chicago and Bowling Camp and Volleyball Camp and Vacation Bible School and on and on and on… Fabulous !!! It’s good to hear that you’re continuing feel fine.

    Hi Joel,
Thanks for telling me, as I stated I wish you the best. Things always change, and this is a drastic change and puts everything in perspective. I hope to hear a remission and even better possible news in the future. I will use your site as that informative crier.

    Joel,

It is great that things are going well in your recovery. I enjoyed the pictures of your family and to see everyone with smiles on their faces. Family is so important during these stressful times. Hopeful to see you in a couple weeks. Thoughts of you are always in our minds and prayers. Take care.

    Poncho,

Your fellow “Bidness Company” partners would like to say how proud we are of you and like to offer up the full amount of accumulated healthcare benefit dollars still held in treasury (aka Wanda’s Cookie Jar).

I think between what Goins, you and I contributed to the fund that summer there is enough to get one of those wooden back scratchers for those hard to reach places!

JP we are here for you man and if you ever need anything say the word and it is done.

    Joel and April,
I don’t know what I did to send the above message. But aren’t you glad to get it? Just wanted to tell you again how good it was to be with you and your family last week. And since the food was so delicious, I wondered what was on the menu for tomorrow. We were thinking about just dropping by at supper time.
We’ll see the kids at the zoo tomorrow, I hope. Love, Paula
