Hi April, Rachel, Daphne and Vincent,
I was just thinking about you and there was the cute picture of the trick or treaters. There is one pretty menacing looking character there, though. Hope they had fun. We had a dinosaur and frog come to our houwe. Did you leave your treats on the porch as you talked about last year? Thanks for the picture. See you before too long. Paula

What fantastic costumes! You guys deserve an award for sure, you look so real! Daphne, I would expect nothing more than for you to be a VAMPIRE. Rachel looks like a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, only much more conservative and cool. Vincent, well, I am not even certain if that is Vincent, or the REAL Darth Vader!

Have you ever seen a show called “Dukes of Hazzard”? Tonight I watched “Dukes of Hazzard” on CMT and just smiled at the memories.
Your daddy and I watched that with Great Grandpa many, many, many Friday nights while Grandma and Grandpa went out. Of course, Carrie tolerated it only because another show called ‘Dallas’ came on after that.
Carrie and Great-Grandma looked forward to watching J.R. Ewing on that program.
I remember your dad and I played ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ ALL the time. In those days, we had windows with a handle that you turned around and around to make it go down. The good thing was, you didn’t have to have the keys to get the windows down. So, when Grandma and Grandpa were busy with their chores, we could entertain ourselves without bothering them for the keys. We rolled the front seat windows down in Grandma’s car and practiced getting in and out of the windows speedy fast like Beau and Luke Duke could. Even their cousin, Daisy, could do it and she looked so pretty doing it.
But Grandpa didn’t like for us to play in the car. He consistently came out and gently reminded us NOT to play in the car. Your dad and I tended to forget that, probably because we didn’t understand that is was dangerous. But, thankfully, Grandpa was as good at watching out for our safety as he is now and he never failed to give us those gentle reminders to get out of the car and not to roll the windows down or climb into the window and onto the seat.
Your daddy would even take his shirt off sometimes, and climb into the car, because Beau and Luke Duke did that. I always wished I could try to do that too. Thankfully, Daisy modeled how a lady gets into the car, because I could just watch her and learn to do it like a lady.
I love that show. It makes me smile at the memory of playing Dukes of Hazzard with your daddy.
