Good news

Posted by April on July 8th, 2009 filed in Medical

Joel’s primary care physician checked in on Joel this morning.  He explained that the blood clots are not large in size or number, so that is good news.  Joel has reacted well to the first dosage of the blood thinner medicine.  Joel will be transferred out of ICU today and could be released as early as tomorrow.  Joel stated he slept O.K. last night, so he is up reading the newspaper now.  I will keep you posted as I know more.

I just read the mail and found out so I am relieved to know things are better. Hope Joel continues to respond well to the meds and gets back home soon. You are so strong and an inspiration to all of us. Will continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

    April,
I hope you are hanging in there today and taking care of yourself too. I am wondering if his new room has a nice chair like you had yesterday.

The kids are happy and looking forward to swimmimg tomorrow. The weather didn’t cooperate so we just hung around here and played, which they were very content with. We have a 7 year old boy next door and he and Vincent played baseball and rode scooters around the court. I think both were so happy to have a boy to play with that neither one realized their scooters were hot pink.

Mackenzie and Daphne made chocolate cupcakes and I decided to water the flowers when it was time to ice and sprinkle them so I didn’t micro-manage too much. They turned out beautiful!

I also wanted the record to state that Daphne and Vincent both caught fish tonight. Daphne threw it back in herself and she said this was the best part of her day.

Your kids are our blessings and I’m so glad to have them. I’m glad Joel is feeling less pain today and hope he has a restful night tonight.

    Talk to you soon.
    Love,
    Erin
