Opening Day

Daphne, Rachel and Vincent at the end of Opening Day

Howdy,

Saturday, April 25th was Opening Day for the kids’ softball and baseball seasons — and the entire family had a great time that day!  Joel was feeling well and was able to attend two of the three games (Vincent and Rachel’s games since Daphne’s game slightly overlapped with Vincent’s game).  This being the first game of the season, I wasn’t quite with it — I forgot my camera until the last game (which was Rachel’s), but even then I forgot to take any pictures until the game was over.  I was sitting right behind home plate, but no pictures of Rachel’s hits or her crossing the plate to score a run.  I also forgot all three kids’ cleats.  I am not in the groove of sunscreen yet either — which Joel and I bore the brunt of that mistake.  Overall, it was a fun, exciting, hot day at the ball fields.

Joel is feeling better than he was just a few days ago.  The fatigue is not as bad as it was, but it still creeps up on him and come the early evening, he is content to nod off in the recliner.  But he is able to get up and about during the day, which we are very thankful for.

With the couple of 80+ degree days we have had, I must end with another great summertime activity…….

Sprinkler fun

Hope you are enjoying spring where you are!  Take care!

April

Opening Day sounds as if it were a great day and I like the pictures you posted. The sprinkler looks fun, too. The best news, though, is that Joel got to enjoy it, too. Hope he has more good days this week. We were glad to see him on Friday. Paula

    Hi April & Joel
Sounds like your opening day was fun. Also the kids were having fun in the sprinkler. We spent the day at Sherrie’s boys soccer games so we know what the heat and sun did. It is about the only time I get out in the sun anymore. Makes me look a little healthier. Hope you have many more good days soon. Still thinking of you and praying for you all the time.

The kids pix are great. Can’t believe how they have grown since I last saw them. Glad Joel was up to going. Love to you all.

Did you have ball games today? I think you had good weather to be at the ballpar better than the rain I was expecting. We (Randy) were invited to take pictures of Ransford and friends prior to their prom. We enjoyed watching “all the youth”. Hope you have a good week this week. Love, Paula

    Hi Joel, Hi April,
Thought about the haircut pictures of Vincent on Saturday when I was cutting Cooper’s hair out on the back porch! My technique is a little different–I used a high chair w/ seat belt and a bottle of bubbles. 🙂

Glad to hear that some of the fatigue has lessened.

    Hi Joel and April,

Like the pix of the obviously talented baseball/ softball players. It’ s a good game if they get to hit and / or if Vincent gets to slide.

Connie and I took Mother to Terre Haute to see her sister Wilmma and neice Judy and Paula. It was a great day and I am a lot more tired than she was when we got home. It was a good day– she says.

    Take care both of you.

    Love
    Mother

Ditto to Erin’s comment. Have been thinking about you. We saw your nurse Sunday.
Hope the Cardinals can turn this game around. Paula
