Unfortunately, no news is not…..

Posted by April on April 21st, 2009 filed in General stuff

Hello again,

Though I don’t really have bad news, I guess it could be best described as frustrating news.  Two weeks ago today, Joel had his chemotherapy treatment.  He has yet to leave the couch for any significant length of time.  Thankfully Joel is not complaining of any major pain or discomfort.  He is, however, extremely frustrated with his lack of energy.  Every morning for the past week, we had been hoping it would be the day that Joel “snaps” out of this fatigue.  It has yet to occur.

On a side note, this Saturday is opening day for the kids’ softball and baseball seasons.  We hope Joel will feel up to attend the kids’ games this weekend.

Take care–

April

So sorry that the fatigue has not let up but I am glad to know that he is not having excessive pain. I’m hoping he will be able to go the games-and maybe some warm “sunshiney” days will help, too. We had sleet here today! Paula

P.S. I forgot to say, “Yeah, Cardinals!”. (That’s a lot of punctuation for a short sentence-I may be reported to theGrandparent Police for incorrect punctuation.) If I hadn’t been up for the game I might have missed your entry tonight.

P.S again-I know nobody cares but I clicked the send button and now see that I omitted a comma after “game” in the last sentence. Enough of that.

I’ve been sitting here thinking about how much life has changed in the matter of less than a year.

When my eyes came into focus, I realized I had been staring at the following verse: “the Lord is my strength and my might.” Psalm 118:14.

    Wishing this wasn’t happening.

We will continue to pray not only for Joel’s strength but for the strength of
ALL your family. Hopefully the warm and sunny weather will give a burst of energy to each of you! Here’s wishing you a HAPPY weekend!

    Hi April,

Thanks for the update. Even though you cannot always report good news; all of us appreciate knowing what is happening. I’m hoping that Joel’s fatigue will DISAPPEAR so that he can attend Vincent’s and Daphne’s and Rachel’s games this week-end.
