Joel and April, I really like the pictures on your website. It is so good to hear from both of you directly. This is my first blog experience so I hope I don’t break any rules. I talked to Erin today and she told me the site was up and running. She also told me that your swallowing problems have definitely improved. I am glad to hear that. It sounds as if you are tolerating the treatments well. I didn’t know you felt like working-food for you. After I have rambled I need to know is the whole world going to see my comments or just you? Also, did the Cardinals win today? Guess I can check on-line myself. I haven’t seen or heard a game in a week but I could tell from the standings in the paper today that it must not have been a good week for them. Joel, do you remember Mother and Daddy, your mom and dad, Randy and I laughing about our trip to Kiawah earlier and your dad was our caravan leader? We were in Knoxville, TN, and we were trying to find the Cracker Barrel. Tonight we passed the Cracker Barrel sign just as did that first time. We followed your dad’s Safari van back and forth across intersections trying to get to the restaurant. We finally came to the end of the road. Well, I am positive the motel we are in tonight is “at the end” of the same road except the barricade is gone and there are now 2 motels here. We have had so many good laughs about that part of the trip. Of course, Daddy told the story better than I do. We are continuing to pray that your body will be healed. April, I liked your “facts”. Continue keeping us informed. Love, Paula

    Hi Joel and April!

I’m so encouraged and I hope you are too. That’s just like you Joel, here we are, trying to be of support to you, trying to give you strength, and you are the one who builds us up once again. I can’t help but trust that your treatments are working and after being with you, I can tell that your faith is so strong. Your faith, determination, coupled with your improved swallowing has given me renewed hope in your earthly healing.
Our family has seen several miracles, and what is one more? They happen every day.

Mom dvr’ed the Cardinal game again yesterday. I knew they had won since she was watching it again. She wouldn’t dare watch them loose once, let alone twice. After Graef’s grand slam, I asked her if we could watch it again. We watched it three times! Funny how easy it is to get mom to rewind it for those kinds of plays! 🙂

Yesterday, I dropped Rachel and Mackenzie off at Great Grandma’s. I called twice to see if they were ready to come home and they were not. Finally, after being there for 7 hours, I told them they had to come back. They took their ball, jump ropes and sidewalk chalk with them. Grandma was so appreciative of their visit and just couldn’t stop saying how much she enjoyed watching them play.

I think our kids enjoy seeing Annabel as much as we did at that age, don’t you? (However, I think Grandma has more mercy on them and actually LETS THEM WIN games as she was NOT that way with us, huh?).

Anyway, tomorrow marks a big day for you. You’ve been so strong through it all and now you are on the downward slope of treatments.

You continue to be such a pillar of strength for us all. Both of you.

Have a great week and see you soon.
    Erin

Hebrews 11:1,3 Faith is the assurance that what we hope for is going to happen and the evidence of things we cannot see. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
