Lazy day

Posted by Joel on June 20th, 2008 filed in General stuff

Hey all…today has beena lazy day for April and me.  Pretty much played hooky from work and am watching the cubs/sox game as we speak.   Rachel and Daphne are officially done with another year of softball…still undefeated after 3yrs as we are yet to begin the leagues that keep score.  The kids went to Grandma’s last night and will stay until tomorrow a.m.  So the house is unusually quiet and April and I are contemplating what to do with ourselves this evening…. funny how you can seem lost when the kids are away..the quiet is deafening.  Not much to report will check in later.

Hey there! The kids and I left a message for you earlier after swimming.
Daphne decided to go head first down the slide! Of course, the others had to follow suit instead of letting a 7 year old show them up. Can you believe that?

Vincent became increasingly brave as he began to swim a few strokes to the middle of the pool. He was pretty proud.

Brandon took them for a ride on the fire truck today. When the girls climbed into the truck, they told Vincent “there’s no room”. Brandon told him to hop down and ride in front with him. Suddenly, the girls got up and made space for him and said they’d sit in front instead! He even got to honk the horn!:)

We are planning a movie night in the basement to watch the “Camp Rock” on Disney tonight. I rented something else for Vincent and Elaina but they are choosing to hang with the big kids.

I had so much fun with you yesterday. Thanks for letting me tag along for so long. You look so good, but what else is new? I’ll be brushing up my karoke skills for you. Let me know when you are ready!

    Your younger sister,
    Erin

    Joel,

I have been keeping up with your situation with the updates from Paula, since I talked with your Uncle Darrell.
Tough road ahead for you, but if there is a person that can defeat the odds, that person would be you. We need to catch up and talk about your Glory Days.
This blog deal is a good thing. I love your attitude and you can overcome.
Your playing golf reminds me of you and Monteko hitting all my golf balls into the field next to my house in Madison. Rest of us were working like dogs moving me out of town—what were you doing?
I can go on and on but want to keep this short for now. We have to discuss Purdue football and your work in home improvement. The HGTV show has to be a great thing for you. I know my daugher, Denise, uses it for all the jobs I have to do for her. I built a log cabin in ’96 and now they (family and friends) think I am Norm for God’s sake. I can do about anything, but they can think of some very unusal projects for me. I am stopping now. I pray for you many times during the day and with His help you have a chance.
Oh, by the way. Your kids are great to see and your wife is way to cute for someone like you.

    Take care. John

Great to hear from you hard to believe 20 years since graduation eh? I’m glad to know you’re well. If I knew you could build a log cabin I’d of given you a job for heavens sake. I’m really glad to hear from you please say hello to your kids for me. Take care.

Paula has been terrific also about keeping everyone informed. I, too, am SO grateful that Becky has been “in your court”. Speaking of “court”, I sent your “Celtics’ Dollar” yesterday. Take care…
